I started Wednesday with Aba and Kamal, two of the “cool kids” I met in Europe. The first two photos were taken on a bus in France, the third is us in Sydney at “Darling Harbour”.
Due to the un-summer conditions here, climbing the bridge wasn’t as tempting so I decided to go for the ferry ride! It took me around to different points in the harbour and proved a magnificent view of the bridge as well as the Opera house. The pictures clearly show the dark clouds that are no contrast to the water, however if you look past that, what a neat sight!
After the ferry I took the long route home through the Botanical Gardens. I could of stayed there all day! It seemed to capture earths natural beauty and produce such a peaceful feeling that totally calmed the mind. With the first sprinkle of rain I thought “uh oh, this is going to get tricky (in a skirt and flip flops) and by the time it had reached a down pour, my water proof camera was out and in my hand as I absorbed the rain like it was a gift…
I will admit that I accomplished my usual unintentional goal of “getting lost”. First Tuesday in the city and again on Wednesday in the gardens. I just kept “oohing” and “awhing” until I realized I was completely intertwined in the depths of this massive jungle. I believed this sign… I don’t think it was very accurate.
This was my favorite shot of the gardens.
What garden is complete without a scarecrow, of course!
I’m a big fan of contrast so this part of the city stood out to me. Tall steel structures behind a vibrant, almost tropical green setting.
I think this tree should be called “please climbuh me”.
Finally found my way out of the gardens and accidentally came upon these landmarks. Spectacular!
St. Mary’s Cathedral from Hyde Park
Found this under the tunnel as I finally reached my hostel (sopping wet).
