These two girls reminded me of my childhood, headband and all!
Snack time was a bowl of homemade sauce (the green stuff) over fresh steamed potatoes.
This was an earthquake drill. The principal chose a student to stand on two tables, with one foot on each. Then at the same time, classmates lifted the tables to show what the unsteady ground would feel like during the quake.
